You will be welcomed by your
guide, who will kit you out with a wet suit, canoeing jacket, life
jacket and helmet. Then you travel by bus to the village of Neitisuando,
by the beach on the River Kaitum. The rubber canoes are ready and,
as soon as the safety demonstration is complete, you’re ready
to set off down the beautiful river, two people to a canoe.
With the help of a guide and thanks to the self-bailing rubber canoes,
even the most inexperienced canoeist can enjoy a fun and safe trip
on the water.
You go ashore at a suitable spot to enjoy coffee and sandwiches around
an open fire.
The tour continues down the
River Kaitum to Lappeasuando Wilderness Park, where a hot wood-heated
sauna, dinner and overnight accommodation await. After breakfast on
the second day you travel in Europe’s longest traditional wooden
rapids boat to Lappeasuando Gästgiveri, where your adventure
ends.
All our tours are accompanied by a well-trained and experienced rapids-shooting
guide. Several of our guides have more than 20 years’ experience
of rapids-shooting. The guide’s primary task is to find the
correct and safest descent through the rapids but also to make sure
that you get your share of the back-to-nature experience, thrill and
culture of the river valley!
