Guide Natura

You will be welcomed by your experience guide at Renöhamn wharf, 7 km outside the township of Piteå. Here you dress for the winter conditions with protective overalls, winter boots, warm hats and gloves, and put your snowshoes on. After a security introduction, you walk in your own pace with your snowshoes out in the darkness of the winter under the sparkling northern night sky.  After only a short hike on the frozen sea ice, you reach an island where you start with a night forest hike in the light of your flashlight under majestic pine trees. You are now submerged in our winter experience in the land of King Bore, the Nordic mythological king of the cold and icy north. The quietness of this snow-covered landscape is only broken by the squeezing sound of your snowshoes in the snow. You soon reach your sky gazing spot, where, if the sun has been good to us, it will unrevealing the great mystery of the north – the spectacular phenomenon of Aurora borealis, the northern light. While waiting for this magic dance in the sky, you will immerse in the quietness of this northern place, feel the chill of the winter temperature on your cheek, and absorb the stars above us, while learning about the planets and start constellations and their mythology. An open camp fire invites you with warm drinks and snacks with tastes of the Northern Light.
